π©·π€At ImplantWIDE, we often talk about the importance of both the βwhiteβ and the βpinkβ β beautiful teeth and healthy, stable gums. Today, Iβm excited to introduce Dr. Polina Gubareva, who recently joined our team and brings exceptional expertise in soft tissue and gum grafting procedures.
ππ¦·One of the things I believe strongly in is being honest about our strengths. Dentistry is a broad field, and no one excels at every technique. The tunneling technique for gum grafting is one of those highly specialized procedures that requires tremendous finesse, patience, and attention to detail. When I saw Dr. Polinaβs clinical results, I knew our patients and referring doctors would greatly benefit from her skills.
βοΈSo, what is the tunneling technique?
Over time, gums can become thin or recede, exposing the root surface of a tooth. This can lead to sensitivity, aesthetic concerns, and an increased risk of further recession. Soft tissue grafting helps restore thickness and strength to the gum tissue.
βοΈThe tunneling technique is a minimally invasive approach that allows us to improve gum thickness and, in many cases, cover exposed roots using very small access points rather than larger surgical incisions. Through these tiny openings, grafting material can be carefully placed beneath the gum tissue, helping the body create thicker, stronger, and more resilient gums.
The result?
β
Improved gum health
β
Better protection against future recession
β
Enhanced aesthetics
β
A minimally invasive patient experience
Weβre excited to share some of Dr. Polinaβs clinical cases in the coming weeks and showcase what modern periodontal plastic surgery can achieve.
If you have concerns about gum recession, sensitivity, or uneven gum lines, weβd be happy to evaluate your situation and discuss your options.
