We know a toothbrush can only clean 60% of the teeth surfaces. It is up to flossing to pick up the interproximal areas and the best way at disrupting biofilm and getting below the gum line. Poor flossing habits have been associated with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, periodontal disease, dementia, stroke and Alzheimer's. Flossing on a regular basis can decrease the odds of heart disease and heart attack. Regular 6-month dental checkups are advised.
