Getting braces is a huge milestone, and Emma is absolutely rocking her new look! 🦷✨
For everyone wondering what to expect during the first week of getting braces, here is the inside scoop:
👉Zero pain during placement: Putting the brackets on is completely painless.
👉Mild soreness later: Your teeth will feel snug and tender for a few days.
👉Soft foods are key: Smoothies, mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes are your best friends.
👉Wax is your lifesaver: Dental wax will protect your cheeks while they adjust.
👉A brand new routine: Brushing and flossing take a little extra time, but it is worth it!

Hearing that you need a tooth removed for orthodontic treatment can sound scary.😳
While we always try to avoid removing teeth, dental extractions are sometimes the secret weapon to achieving your perfect smile! Here are the 3 main reasons Dr. Lee might recommend an extraction during your orthodontic journey:
🦷 Severe Crowding: When there simply isn’t enough jaw space for all your teeth to fit safely.
🦷 Correcting Your Bite: Creating space allows us to shift front teeth backward, correcting severe overbites or underbites.
🦷 Impacted Teeth: Sometimes extra teeth or trapped wisdom teeth block your other teeth from moving into place.

Every mouth is unique, and we only recommend extractions when it’s absolutely necessary for a healthy, stable, and beautiful result!
