It's almost International Children’s Day, and Dr. Specht has an important reminder for parents! The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children have their first orthodontic evaluation around age 7, and that early visit can give parents so much clarity about how their child’s smile, bite, and jaw are developing. Phase 1 treatment isn't needed for every child, but when it is recommended, it can help guide growth, make room for adult teeth, and set the stage for a smoother experience later on.
This before and after is a great example of how early orthodontic care can make a meaningful difference while a child is still growing. After phase 1 treatment, we continue monitoring growth to see if further treatment is necessary down the line, but often times all that's needed are a few adjustments ✨️ At Central Coast Orthodontics, consultations are free, welcoming, and designed to help families feel informed every step of the way!
