As part of our continued advocacy efforts, our team headed to Sacramento earlier this week for CPCA Advocates Day at the Capitol to stand up for our patients, protect Medi-Cal benefits, and champion equitable access to oral health care!

We met with the offices of Assemblymember Dawn Addis, Assemblymember Gail Pellerin, Speaker Robert Rivas, and Senator John Laird to advance DAC and CHC legislative priorities that uplift our community.

A Couple of Tips
1) Commit to cleaning mouth 2x a day.
2) Use mouthwash after every cleaning.
3) Missing teeth? Give extra attention to cleaning around your remaining teeth by using floss or interdental brushes.

It's been a great week at the Senior Oral Health Symposium in Washington, D.C.! We're proud to represent Santa Cruz County with our coalition partner Salud Para La Gente among other incredible organizations from across the country.

Our team leaders are taking the stage as panelists, sharing how our Senior Oral Health Partnership is driving innovative approaches to senior dental care in Santa Cruz — the fastest aging county in California.

But we're not just here to lead — we're here to learn. We were honored to hear from former US Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy and many other healthcare leaders this week. Their knowledge and experience make all of us stronger. That's the beauty of coalition — we show up to share, to listen, and to grow together. Dientes is in Washington, D.C.!

Our team is on Capitol Hill today, advocating for the oral health of older adults in Santa Cruz County and beyond.

Alongside our coalition partners Salud Para La Gente and Delta Dental Insurance Company, Dientes is representing the work of our Senior Oral Health Partnership — a powerful example of what's possible when organizations unite around a shared mission.

Our message to lawmakers? Santa Cruz County has the fastest aging population in the state of California — and our partnership is rising to meet that challenge by increasing access to dental care and empowering seniors through education. We believe this model can set the example for community health centers across the country to build local partnerships that lift everyone's mission.
