Do your dentures move around in your mouth? If so, you might be a good candidate for a RELINE!
A denture reline is a simple procedure to reshape the underside of a denture so that it fits more comfortably on the person's gums. Relining is periodically necessary as dentures lose their grip in the mouth due to changes in the oral structures such as bone loss.
We do denture relines in office and through our lab.

Meet your Dentist!

Dr. Greg Prins has been providing high quality patient focused care here at Mt. Baldy Dental Center since 2017. He grew up in Walla Walla and graduated from the University of Idaho with his undergraduate degree. He then moved south to Glendale, Arizona for dental school where he graduated with honors from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine.

He and his wife Amber Prins (Priest River native and local Optometrist) then moved back north to Sandpoint to start their careers and family and are proud to call the wonderful community of Sandpoint home.

They now have two young kids and love spending their free time together on the water, in the mountains, hiking, camping, fishing and enjoying the beauty of northern Idaho. Greg also loves tinkering with vintage/antique tools and machinery, among other projects he has a 1950s Willys Jeep he has fixed up to take out exploring off road.

Meet your Dentist!

Dr. Todd House first joined Mt. Baldy Dental Center in 2000 after receiving his DMD Degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. His undergraduate education was at the University of Idaho where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. Todd then moved to Sandpoint to focus on his passion of skiing and had seasonal employment at Schweitzer and the U.S. Forestry Service. He met his wife Cari in Sandpoint, who is currently a registered nurse at Bonner General Hospital before they moved east to Pennsylvania to continue their educations.

Dr. House is very active with his dental continuing education with an emphasis in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, implant surgery, implant prosthodontics, gingival surgery and bone grafting surgery. He has attended many courses by the well respected prosthodontists Dr. Frank Spears and Dr. John Kois, the Perio Institute, and the Zimmer Institute for advanced implant training. Dr. House is a charter member of the Inland Empire Periodontal Study Club, which is dedicated to the advancement of clinical skills in periodontal and implant surgery. He is a current member of the American Dental Association and the Idaho State Dental Association.

Dr. House and his wife feel very fortunate to be part of the greater community of Sandpoint. They raise two daughters here who are very active in ski racing and are currently pursuing nursing degrees through Montana State University. When he is not doing dentistry Dr. House still enjoys spending his free time skiing, mountain biking, camping, boating and all the great things northern Idaho has to offer.

It’s that time of year! Starting in January we started handing out referral cards to our patients to invite their family and friends to come see us at Mt. Baldy Dental. When you refer someone to us we keep track of those referrals and do a drawing every 6 months for a $100 gift card to a local restaurant or store in town of your choice! If you would like to be apart of the next drawing, ask us about our referral program next time you’re in or just send us a friend who needs a dentist and tell them to let us know who sent them!

✨ an abutment is a connector piece that attaches the dental implant to the crown, it is usually made of titanium or zirconia
✨ the abutment has 3 parts, the base, the head and the collar
✨ the base fits into the internal core of the implant, the head protrudes and serves as the prosthetic retainer, and the collar connects the base and the head at the gum level
✨ abutments can either be one piece or two piece, depending on the implant system and the clinical situation. Abutments are important for shaping the gums, providing stability, and transferring the load from the crown to the implant
✨ abutments should be selected carefully based on various factors such as implant position, angulation, soft tissue profile, aesthetic requirements, and occlusal forces

We recommend starting teeth brushing as soon as you see those baby teeth pop through, next step is bringing the little ones in for their first dental appointment by the age of 2 so that we can check for cavities and make sure they are on track in tooth development!
