Let me tell you about the part of a dental visit you don't see. The part my team obsesses over even when nobody's watching.

Sterilization. Instrument processing. The protocols that happen between every patient, on every chair, on every tool, on every surface. My assistant Karla is one of the people on this team who treats every step of that as non-negotiable, and I'm grateful for it. The standard for what counts as "good enough" when somebody's in your chair has to be absolute.

It can make us look picky. We re-check things. We re-process things. We don't take shortcuts when nobody's watching. That can come across as fussy if you're not used to it.

It's not fussy. It's because your safety matters to us, the same way it would matter if any of us were the one in the chair.

We still focus on the things you do see. The comfort, the listening, being gentle. The part you don't see is just as important.

Nobody really warns you what happens to your mouth in your forties and fifties.

You start gaining a little weight that won't leave. Your tongue gets slightly bigger because of it, and suddenly you're snoring at night when you never did before. The hormones that protected your teeth and gums for forty years aren't doing the same job anymore. Medications you didn't take in your thirties are now part of your morning routine, and a lot of them dry your mouth out, which means more cavities, even if your hygiene hasn't changed.

Old fillings fracture. Teeth that were straight when you were twenty start crowding in. Recession creeps in, and wear shows up in places you didn't notice last year.

I'm in this age group myself, and I'm watching it happen to me too. The good news is most of it is manageable if we catch it early, and a lot of it can be reversed without resorting to the drill.

We offer an in-house membership plan at Reflections Dental Spa for patients who don't have coverage through an employer or who've decided traditional dental insurance isn't worth what it costs them.

Our Preventative Plan is $49/month and includes 2 exams and 2 cleanings + fluoride treatments each year, plus annual x-rays.

Plus, when you’re a plan member, you'll get an additional 10 to 20% off many of our additional dental and cosmetic services.

We also have a dedicated Perio plan for people who have gum disease and need more comprehensive treatment.

We don’t want you to postpone cleanings or put off treatment because of insurance, so our membership plan is designed to make it simple.

You probably haven't met my office manager Ellen. Most of what she does happens before you ever sit in the chair.

When you call us, she's making sure your insurance is verified and your treatment is broken down in a way that doesn't feel overwhelming. When you walk in for your first visit, she's making sure your paperwork doesn't take the whole appointment. When your treatment plan has a big number on it, she's the person who can sit with you and figure out how to make it work.

Her job is to meet you where you are without judgment and help break it down into something manageable. You don't have to figure it out alone. That's what Ellen's there for.

Calling the dentist is probably the last thing you want to do today. My front desk team knows that, so they do their absolute best to make it easy on you.

Please know that you're not a patient file when you call us. You're a guest. We'd rather get you in, make sure you're comfortable, and get you healthy than make you justify why it's been a while since you last had a checkup.

When you walk in nervous, they've got you. They'll show you around. If you need somewhere quiet to sit, they'll find it. If you need someone next to you while you fill out paperwork, that's not weird here.
