**1. Initial Examination**
Before proceeding with teeth whitening, we will check your teeth and gums to ensure you are a suitable candidate.
- We look for issues such as cavities, gum disease, or tooth sensitivity, which may need to be addressed first.
- A professional-grade whitening gel, containing either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, is then applied to your teeth.
- This gel works to break down stains and lighten the color of your enamel. During the process, an LED light is used to activate the gel and speed up the whitening effect. The gel is typically left on for 20-30 minutes, and multiple sessions may occur during the same visit.
- We might reapply the gel once or twice during your appointment. After the treatment time is complete, your mouth will be rinsed out. You should notice immediate results, although full results may take a few days to become apparent.
Following the treatment, you will receive guidance on foods and drinks to avoid for the next 24 to 48 hours, such as coffee, red wine, and smoking, to help prevent new stains.
