Did you know that underbites are easier to correct while a child is still growing? 🦷✨

An underbite happens when the lower jaw sits too far forward, causing the bottom teeth to bite in front of the upper teeth. If left untreated, it can lead to uneven tooth wear, chewing difficulties, speech concerns, and jaw strain over time.

Phase I orthodontic treatment focuses on guiding jaw growth during childhood, when the bones are still developing. Early intervention may help improve bite alignment, support proper facial growth, and reduce the need for more extensive treatment later on.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic evaluation by age 7 to identify developing bite problems early.
