Happy Friday!! ๐Ÿ˜†

Here is the latest chalkboard art โ€” we are at 1.5 years post shutdown and surviving is still very much the name of the game. Parenting can be hard and rewarding and exhausting and energizing and surviving looks different for all of us. ๐Ÿ’—

So nice to see your smiling eyes and your littles. Hope you are finding some rest here and there. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I had my 3rd baby just a few weeks ago! We are getting to know each other, figuring out how and when to sleep again, and overall doing well ๐Ÿ’•
Thank you for supporting my small business by continuing to come and see Dr. Lina! ๐Ÿฆท ๐Ÿ’—

Two posts in one day because my baby sleeps better during the day when his brothers are noisy than at night ๐Ÿ˜ฌ ๐Ÿ˜ด

Wheeeee! Anyone lost a baby tooth recently? I love the dental cartoons by ๐Ÿฆท
Did you know that baby teeth fall out in two phases? Around age 6-9 is when the front 8 baby teeth fall out and the big ones grow in. Around age 6 is when the permanent molars grow in behind the last baby molars. And whatโ€™s most surprising to many parents is that the baby molars and canines donโ€™t fall out until kids are 10-12! ๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป
Iโ€™ve even taken out baby molars on 16 year olds! โค๏ธ
So please, brush all those baby teeth as soon as they come in with a rice grain amount of fluoridated toothpaste ๐Ÿชฅtwice a day even if your child isnโ€™t spitting yet! For kids who can spit, use up to a pea-sized amount. Donโ€™t feed your child during the night, and take your baby to the dentist by age ONE so that we can reverse any small cavities before they become holes! ๐Ÿ•ณ

I have officially started leave as I wait for baby 3 to arrive! Dr. Lina will take great care of you while Iโ€™m gone and I canโ€™t wait to see how much everyone has grown when I come back in July! ๐Ÿฆท ๐Ÿ’•

Any ideas of what I should do with my boys while on leave but still taking COVID precautions? ๐Ÿฆ  ๐Ÿ˜ท

2๏ธโƒฃ Dark chocolate! ๐Ÿซ
3๏ธโƒฃ Do a good job the rest of the year and relax โ€” itโ€™s not what you do on occasion, itโ€™s what you do every day, every week that counts!๐Ÿฆท ๐Ÿ’•

If your child hits their tooth or face, it is possible that their teeth could become infected, even without bacteria! This video is an explanation and diagram by Dr. Kristina to help show why itโ€™s important to have baby tooth infections monitored and if needed, treated. ๐Ÿฆท ๐Ÿ’•

I had some fun today trying out my new syringe-alternative... on myself! Read more for my first impressions. ๐Ÿฆท
I have given thousands of injections over the last 10 years and I know how important it is to be compassionate and as comfortable as possible โ€” rememeber, unlike at the pediatrician, we START with the ๐Ÿ’‰
Iโ€™m the type of person who always wants to do things better. Injections are one of the things that many kids are afraid of, so it is something I am committed to improve on, even if what I currently do is working. Also, my hands are small, and it would be nice to make one of the things I do every day a little more ergonomic. So Iโ€™ve been on the lookout for an alternative for years. There are other options like the Wand or Calaject, but they are not cordless and if you have seen your child at a dental office you know they want to step on and press all the buttons... ๐Ÿ˜‚
PROS โž•
โœ… super ergonomic compared with traditional syringe, especially for small hands ๐Ÿ‘‹
โœ… uses all the same standard size anesthetic carpules and needles ๐Ÿ’‰
โœ… looks a lot like a thermometer (because itโ€™s gonna FREEZE those teeth) ๐ŸŒก
โœ… lightweight and I love the intuitive buttons ๐Ÿ”˜
โœ… Carpule holder is clear so you can easily see how much anesthetic has been delivered ๐Ÿ“ฆ
CONS โž–
ใ€ฐ๏ธ a little noisy, but with headphones on, the medical grade hepa air filter (thanks covid) and suction, I donโ€™t think it will matter ๐ŸŽง๐ŸŽถ
ใ€ฐ๏ธ cost of course but Iโ€™m building my practice on the principal of what I would want for my own kids and yours deserve the best, too ๐Ÿง’๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ
ใ€ฐ๏ธ the grips that come with it are 5 of the syringe โ€œTโ€ type and 2 pen grips, but what I would really prefer are all pen grips. ๐Ÿ–Š
Iโ€™m excited to incorporate this device into my practice because I think that my kids would appreciate it. When you bring your kids to me, I treat them as my own. ๐Ÿ’— Dr. Kristina๐Ÿฆท
Disclosure: I purchased this product and did not receive this product at a discount/for free. I am sharing it because I believe it will help kids be more comfortable.

Happy Motherโ€™s Day to all the mamas in our lives. ๐Ÿ’•
I am so thankful for these two hilarious, clever, sweet, and loving kids. They help me understand what all of you are going through. Each day I try to remember the roller coaster called parenting that you got off of right before stepping foot in the office. Because I have been there, too. ๐ŸŽข ๐Ÿ’— ๐Ÿฆท
I hope to see you soon, but I am going to miss these two like crazy. ๐Ÿ’• Dr. Kristina
