Bruxism & Implants: A Risk You Shouldn’t Ignore
Teeth grinding (bruxism) puts serious stress on dental implants. Unlike natural teeth, implants can’t absorb pressure the same way, making them more vulnerable to damage, loosening, or failure from bruxism over time.

Protect your investment:
• Get checked for bruxism
• Wear a night guard if needed
• Don’t skip follow-ups

When are immediate implants not a good idea?
While placing a dental implant at the same time with a tooth extraction is preferred in the front of the mouth, it’s not always the best—or safest—option.

Situations that may rule out immediate implants include:

🦷 Active infections at the extraction site

🦴 Poor bone density or insufficient bone volume

🧬 Medical conditions that impair healing (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes)

In such cases, delaying implant placement allows time for healing and bone regeneration, ultimately improving the long-term success of the implant in compromised situations.

Immediate implant placement isn’t always ideal. A thorough evaluation of the patient’s overall health and local condition is essential for planning a successful implant surgery. 🦷
