Some professional relationships become friendships. This is one of them.

Dr. Terry Alford and I have been working together in Bradenton, Florida for 14 years. Four times a year, I travel to his office to work side-by-side with him and his team creating Same-Day Smiles.

Over all those years, we’ve created a lot of smiles—but we’ve also built something much more important: trust, respect, and a great friendship.

In this video, Terry talks about the value of having someone with my experience right there in the operatory. For me, that collaboration is what Same-Day Smiles has always been about.

I’m not simply a laboratory sending restorations back to an office. I’m there. I meet the patient. I listen. I work alongside the doctor. And together, we make the decisions that bring that smile to life.

After 14 years, I’m incredibly grateful not only for the professional relationship Terry and I have built, but for the friendship that came with it.

Great dentistry brings people together. Sometimes it creates friendships that last for years.

See you on the next trip, my friend. šŸ¤šŸ¦·

The best part of creating a new smile? Hearing what it means to the patient. ā¤ļø

During my week in Florida, I had the opportunity to be part of this beautiful smile transformation.

For me, Smile Design has never been just about creating beautiful teeth. It’s about listening to the patient, understanding what they want, and working side by side with the dentist to create a smile that feels natural and personal.

Her words are the reason I continue to love what I do.

Beautiful dentistry is technical.
A beautiful smile is emotional. ✨

The work doesn’t stop at 30,000 feet. āœˆļø

Flying home and using the quiet time to start building my November presentation in Maui.

This lecture is going to be very special to me. I’ll be talking about Modern Digital Dentistry and Treatment Communication — how technology, smile design, communication, and the human connection can completely change the way a patient experiences dentistry.

For me, creating a smile has never been only about beautiful teeth.
It’s about understanding the person behind the smile — and creating that moment when they see themselves differently.

A lot of ideas are going into this one… and today, somewhere above the clouds, it begins. 🌊🦷

Maui — November 2026. See you there.

A new smile can change more than teeth. It can change the way someone feels. ā¤ļø

This is why I love what I do.

Being part of the process—from smile design and ceramic artistry to working chairside with the dentist and patient—allows us to create something truly personal.

It’s not just about making beautiful teeth.

It’s about listening, understanding the patient, and creating a smile that feels natural, confident, and uniquely theirs.

This is Smile Design. This is Emotional Dentistry. ✨

And THIS is why we call it an Emotional Mock-Up. ā¤ļø

Seeing your new smile for the first time…
before we ever touch a tooth.

That reaction says it all. ✨

Behind every great smile, it takes a team. 🦷✨

A great dentist. A dedicated team. And a ceramist who understands the vision behind the smile.

Every restoration I create is carefully designed, refined and characterized with one goal in mind — to deliver a smile that looks beautiful, natural and belongs to the patient.

This is the craftsmanship behind CADsmiles.

Happy Friday! Another Same Day Smiles day. 😁

Today I’m heading to Dentistry Collective with Dr. Tim Garofolo for a 16-unit smile transformation — 10 upper and 6 lower restorations — completed in one day.

But for me, Same Day Smiles starts before we ever touch a tooth.

Yesterday, the patient came to my Smile Design Studio where we had the opportunity to sit together, talk about what he wanted to change, review his photos, discuss his existing smile and fluorosis, and go through the digital design together.

That personal connection is a huge part of my process. I want the patient to understand the design, participate in it, and feel confident about where we’re going before treatment begins.

Then comes the part I love: working side-by-side with the dentist and patient to bring that design to life.

No temporaries. No sending the case away and waiting weeks.
Design, dentistry, ceramics, characterization and delivery — all coming together in a single day.

That’s what CADsmiles Same Day Smiles is all about.

Today I’ll be documenting the entire process, so stay tuned for the transformation. šŸ”„

Precision before characterization. 🦷

Beautiful anterior zirconia doesn’t begin with stain and glaze. It begins with control—control of contour, contacts, proportions and anatomy throughout the entire workflow.

In this case, I’m working with two different model stages designed around the zirconia workflow.

The first allows me to carefully refine the restorations before sintering, paying close attention to contacts, contours and the relationship between each tooth. Once sintered, the restorations are evaluated at their final dimensions before moving into the esthetic stage.

That’s where MiLAY by Kuraray comes in.

Depending on the case, I can use a minimal cutback technique or external characterization with this liquid ceramic system to introduce depth, texture and natural optical effects without losing the anatomy we’ve worked so carefully to create.

For me, technology is most valuable when it gives us more control over the final esthetic result.

At CADsmiles, every step—from digital design to final characterization—is done with the same goal:

Beautiful, natural restorations that we’re proud to deliver and our doctors are proud to seat.

Every restoration we create carries your reputation.
