Dr. Dixon's Annual Halloween Candy Buy Back is Complete! Congratulations to the Sage Canyon "Coyotes" for collecting the most of all 10 participating schools with 208.6 POUNDS of candy!

We will donate $1.00 per pound of candy collected to the schools that participated and we will add $500 to Sage Canyon's total to bring our donation to Sage Canyon to $708.60.

We will make sure each school receives a donation of at least $100.00 for participating in our candy buy back this year.

We appreciate the opportunity to work with our local schools to not only donate to their STEAM or PTA programs but also to reduce the cavity risk that comes with Halloween by limiting the amount of candy kids are exposed to after Halloween.

Wishing a safe, FUN, and yummy Halloween to all the kids (and grown ups who like to act like kids!) from Dr. Dixon's Cali KiDDS Dentistry and Orthodontics!
We are partnering with many of the Del Mar Unified School District Schools in our annual Candy Buy Back - supporting Del Mar Schools Education Foundation (DMSEF) to fund STEAM+ programs in our local elementary schools. We will donate $1 per pound of candy dropped off at Sage, Ocean Air, Del Mar Heights, Del Mar Hills, Sycamore Ridge, and Pacific Sky. Last year we donated over $2,300 to our local schools while helping reduce the cavity risk of all those delicious treats at home.

We want to wish a happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms in our lives - Donna Dixon (Dr Eric and Dr Ross Dixon's Mom), Dr. Stephanie Dixon, Dr Kim Sauer, Dr Rachel Swimmer, Dr Brenda Caillouel, Dr Laura Hunt and all the amazing moms that are part of the awesome team that cares for the patients who come to visit us in the office.
Of course a very special thanks and Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms (and to everyone who fulfills the role of mom) to our amazing patients who make our jobs one of the greatest on earth.

We tried a different, well advertised Pediatric dentist once that was closer to home and there were many hidden fees and much less compassion so we are planning to never switch again. All the dentists at Dixon's are so kind to my children and really take the time to talk to me and listen to any concerns I have. This family run business treats me and my 4 children as their own family and we are so grateful.
My kids get excited when they know they are going in for a cleaning and never want to leave because they have so much fun playing there and they love all of the awesome toy rewards.

We hope everyone had an amazing, fun and safe Halloween! We were fortunate to be surrounded by our amazing team and the brave souls who came in to visit before going out trick or treating!

Parents: please make sure to stress with your children that when it comes to cavities it is not how much sugar they consume, but how long it sits on their teeth and how often it is replenished - so it is best to let the kids eat their Halloween candy for 10 or 15 minutes and then put it away for a few days. Also, chocolate candies are easier on the teeth than the sticky fruity or sour candies. Of course, brushing and flossing is important everyday - but especially on days where we treat ourselves to goodies.

We are buying back Halloween Candy at $1.00 per pound this year again and donating to Operation Gratitude - so when your kids (and parents!) have had their fill please bring it by the office.
