Here is a Doc update for all of our beautiful Atlanta patients we miss so much.
So many of you came to know and love Doc because he has always by my side at the practice. I adopted him with one of my favorite patients from dental school in 2013, and from the very beginning, he became part of my heart, my life, and part of our office family.
One of my favorite mentors in dental school helped me name him “Doc.” I thought it would be funny if patients came looking for me and he answered instead. What I did not expect was that so many of you would end up coming to see him more frequently vs me!
Now, at 18.5 years old, Doc has been through more than any dog should but he has always been the one smiling, recovering quick! chondrosarcoma at age 5, three sinus surgeries at 17, and the tender ups and downs of loving a senior dog. I worry, and he keeps finding joy. I rush through life, and he reminds me to pause.
His .dogs collar has helped me monitor his steps, activity, and health and yes, Doc had a smart collar before I ever had a smart watch.
This year, I am especially grateful for more time with him as we begin this new chapter. He has been beside me through every move, every hard decision, and every beautiful beginning.
And now he has David and Tango too. Tango keeps him moving and smiling like a puppy again, and seeing David love our dogs has made this chapter even sweeter.
Doc was one of the best decisions I ever made. He has been my best friend, my little shadow, my travel partner, and a piece of my heart.
We miss our Atlanta family so much. Doc is here & he misses working a lot(bossing me around), still teaching me to slow down, still enjoying life, and still very much the boss. I am so grateful for the bond that we (doc & I) have with our patients & every relationship that we built together.
