What an incredible weekend at the STAR Course surrounded by passionate providers and collaborators who are all committed to advancing pediatric airway, oral restriction care, and early functional growth guidance. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is the opportunity to share knowledge, learn from other disciplines, and collaborate with clinicians who truly care about improving outcomes for children and families.

The conversations, case discussions, and interdisciplinary perspectives throughout the weekend were such an important reminder that the best patient care happens through multidisciplinary collaboration. Pediatric dentists, myofunctional therapists, bodyworkers, lactation consultants, ENTs, speech therapists, and airway focused providers all bring valuable pieces to the puzzle.

So excited for this next course!!!

My practice is centered on oral restrictions (tongue ties) and pediatric airway and growth modification, and I’ve been focused in this area since 2015. The most common questions I’m asked are how to begin learning and treating in this space, and how to determine when and where to refer within an interdisciplinary model.

For the past few years, I’ve taught The STAR Course, where we address exactly these foundational questions. The course is designed to teach the core principles behind oral restriction assessment and treatment, airway focused growth guidance, and functional pediatric care. It is especially well suited for clinicians who want to begin incorporating procedures such as frenectomy, as well as those looking to expand and refine protocols within an existing practice. I co teach alongside multiple therapists to provide a truly collaborative and comprehensive view of care.

I’m deeply passionate about this work and about helping children eat, sleep, breathe, grow, and thrive.
