And when we are treating dental problems, we use the most modern dental equipment and technology in order to help us detect and fix these problems in the very early stages. Mira Mesa Dental was started by Dr. Richard Johnson and Dr. Bert Buffington in 1976 and provided San Diego area with high quality dental for decades thereafter. When Dr.'s Johnson and Buffington retired, they passed the torch to Drs. Faris and Lina, who have continued in their footsteps by providing excellence in dental care to the San Diego community.

This photo captures a special piece of dental history — a German book on the history of dentistry dated 1962, generously given to me by Dr Buffington’s (the former owner’s) son, Brett, according to him this book was always on his dad’s desk. It’s been 7 years since I took over his practice. He sadly is no longer here with us anymore. Receiving this book feels like inheriting more than just a practice; it’s a connection to the legacy, dedication, and generations of care that built the foundation I’m honored to continue today.
