At Vernon Dental Specialty, we understand that waiting can sometimes be frustrating, and we truly appreciate our patients’ patience and understanding.
As a multi-specialty dental office with 20+ treatment rooms, 20+ providers, and multiple specialists working throughout the day, many of the procedures performed in our office are highly advanced and difficult to predict down to the exact minute.
Procedures such as:
• Root canal treatments and retreatments
• Surgical tooth extractions
• Wisdom teeth removal
• Complex specialty procedures
can sometimes take longer than expected. In specialty dentistry, treatment time is not always predictable. A root canal scheduled for 40 minutes may require significantly more time if additional work is necessary to properly save and treat the tooth.
Our priority will always be providing the best possible outcome for the patient in the chair, not rushing treatment to stay perfectly on schedule.
We also do our best to accommodate emergency patients experiencing severe pain whenever possible. Sometimes emergency cases must be worked into the schedule because we believe patients in pain deserve help.
Our office includes board-certified oral surgeons, a board-certified endodontist, and a specialized endodontic team focused on complex root canal treatments and retreatments every day. Many of the procedures we perform require precision, flexibility, and additional treatment time to achieve the best possible result.
Please know:
• Waiting room patients are scheduled for different providers and procedures
• Delays are usually caused by complex treatment needs, not because your care is being ignored
• We do our best to inform patients in advance that specialty appointments may run longer than expected
We sincerely thank our patients for their patience and trust. The extra time spent is often what helps save teeth, improve outcomes, and provide the level of care our patients deserve.
One day, the patient needing extra time and care could be any of us, and when that happens, we would want the doctor to take the time necessary to do it right.
