Brushing twice a day, cleaning the tongue, and drinking plenty of water can help keep those little mouths fresh and healthy!

Did you know candy can give cavity-causing bacteria a sugar feast? These bacteria turn sugar into acids that can weaken tooth enamel. Sticky and hard candies can be especially tricky because they tend to linger on teeth longer! Candy is okay as an occasional treat, but remember to brush twice a day for two minutes to help keep those little teeth healthy and happy!

Apples are a dental SUPERFOOD! They are packed with fiber, which stimulates gums and gently scrubs teeth to remove plaque. Apples also stimulate saliva production, which naturally cleans teeth by rinsing away food particles and cavity-causing bacteria. And they’re packed with vitamin C without the acidity of many citrus fruits. Plus, children who are teething often find apples to be soothing. (Don’t forget to supervise to avoid choking concerns.) And always choose whole apples over apple sauce whenever possible.
