Phase I treatment isn’t just about straightening teeth — it’s about understanding why the bite developed the way it did. 🧐
For this patient, we were able to correct an anterior open bite, but an important part of the treatment was identifying the underlying cause: tongue posture and tongue function. 🔍
When the tongue rests or pushes forward against the front teeth during swallowing, it can create pressure that contributes to an open bite or makes it difficult to keep corrected. As part of this patient’s treatment, we focused not only on guiding the teeth and bite into a healthier position, but also on helping retrain the tongue to rest, swallow, and function more properly. 🦷
The goal is always a beautiful smile and a stable, healthy result that supports long-term function. ✨
