Welcome Dr. Jason Pruett!

Platinum Dental Care of Sugarhouse has a dose of good news for Sugarhouse residents.

We have brought on an additional doctor, and the team couldn't be happier with our great find! We are sure you will agree Dr. Pruett is a great addition to the community, and is excited to serve you and your family.

Born in Provo, UT, Dr. Jason Pruett attended BYU and served a two year LDS mission in Oklahoma. He went on to earn a Masters' degree in fine art and worked in Los Angeles as an artist, children’s book illustrator, and character designer. Dr. Pruett realized he loved making people smile as an artist and thought he might like making people smile as a dentist too!

He attended the University of Utah School of Dentistry for four years of dental school, and received training on restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, root canals, and dentures. He’d love to take care of your oral health with his friendly approach to patient care.

About the Role

The role of a dental assistant is to work chairside with your assigned dentist(s) and perform all dental assistant duties.


Responsibilities

- Welcome patients to the dental office
- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
- Select and set up instruments, equipment, and material needed
- Sterilize instruments according to regulations
- Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
- Undertake lab tasks as instructed
- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
- Schedule appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records

Skills

- Proven experience as a dental assistant
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
- Understanding of health & safety regulations
- The ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
- Good computer skills
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Attention to detail
- Well-organized and reliable
- X-ray certified
