It is with profound sadness and heartache to share that Dr. Michael Bingham passed away due to pancreatic cancer. Dr. Bingham enjoyed being a dentist and sincerely valued the wonderful relationships he had with each of his patients.

After much thought, research and careful consideration, the office of Dr. Bingham is merging with the office of Dr. Cory Evans. Dr. Evans is a wonderful, experienced dentist and he shares Dr. Bingham’s philosophy of dentistry, patient care and relationships. He is active in continuing education to stay on top of the latest in dental techniques. Dr. Evans also is part of the faculty at the University of Utah Dental School. He shares Dr. Bingham’s motto that dental visits should be comfortable and painless.
Kathi has joined the team at Dr. Evans’ office and will have all the dental information from Dr. Bingham’s office available to help in this transition.

Dr. Evans’ location is conveniently located just a mile north of Dr. Bingham’s office at 3640 Highland Drive, Suite #6 (right next to Anvil Cabinets). The phone number is 801-278-9911, and his website is www.evansmiles.com. You can also contact Kathi at the phone number for Dr. Bingham’s office: 801-532-1216.

We are SUPER excited to announce some new tech that we've recently added to our dental toolbox.

Near-infrared transillumination has been around for a few years now and we've been watching it very closely to see how well it works and how it could be of benefit to our patients.

Basically, this technology augments traditional radiography (x-rays) but without any radiation. Using optical lasers of a very specific wavelength that shine through tooth structure and a small specialized camera, we can now see changes in the integrity of normal tooth structure often before it would even be visible on an x-ray. This is especially useful in "seeing" cavitites in between the teeth that could previously only be seen on x-rays. And it's great for seeing cracks in teeth as well.

And since it doesn't involve any kind of ionizing radiation like regular x-rays it is safe to use on kids and on women who are pregnant.

Most of our patients know that we try very hard to limit the number of x-rays that we take for the reasons listed above as well as other reasons. We strongly feel that this new technology will help us continue to limit the number of x-rays needed and to see potential problems at an earlier point and potentially intervene in a much more conservative fashion.

Treating just one patient at a time is how we've practiced for decades! :-) But we've added even more precautions during this pandemic to keep you and your family safe and healthy.

It’s important to keep tabs on your oral health, but dental care looks a lot different in today’s world. Here’s what you can expect.

GUIDELINES PUT IN PLACE FOR THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK:
**EDIT: These guidelines below will still stay in place until the COVID-19 case numbers decrease significantly to continue to protect you***

We appreciate so much the trust that you, our patients, have in us and with that in mind we have put some more guidelines in place, out of an abundance of caution, for the foreseeable future.

-ONLY patients who have an appointment are allowed in the office. If you have a driver or friend with you, please ask them to wait in their car instead of the reception area. Families who live in the same household may come as a group as long as the group is less than 8 people (As you know, the reception area isn't that big anyway. LOL)

-If you arrive at our office before your appointment time, please wait in your car or outside in order for the patient before you to leave and for us to clean/disinfect the entire office. If we are running behind (which, as you know, almost never happens) we will call or text you to let you know we're running a bit behind. If you would prefer, we could call or text you when you get to the building to let you know if you can come in yet. If our door is locked at your appointment time and we have not called you, please knock...there is always a possibility that the lock stuck!

-The outside stairwell on the north side of the building leads directly to our hallway on the first floor and is MUCH less used than the indoor stairwell, elevator, or any other common areas of the building. We will be happy to meet you to open the door so you don't even need to touch the handle.

-If you would prefer to use the elevator, please let us know when you arrive at the building and we can meet you outside with a mask and disinfectant solution. Yes, this might be an over-reaction to the virus, but "better safe than sorry"!

-We are monitoring temperatures with a non-contact thermometer upon arrival to the office. If the temperature is above 99.5, your oxygen level will be checked with a finger pulse oximeter.

-Of course, it probably goes without saying but if you have had a fever or any of the other symptoms of COVID-19 within 3 days of your appointment, it would be best to stay home.

-If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call or text 801-815-7980 :-D

IMPORTANT NOTICE to our patients concerning the COVID-19 virus.

Please be assured that we are doing EVERYTHING possible to keep you safe while you are in our office.

We have a HUGE advantage over other dental offices in that, as you know, we only see ONE patient at a time (unless you are here with other members of your own family) and we always schedule extra time in between each patient. We are able to clean and disinfect every area that the patient was in before the next patient arrives. Due to the increase infection control because of COVID-19, we ask that if you arrive at the building before your designated appointment time, you remain in your car and not in the waiting area of our office. Also, we lock the front office door when a patient is in it.

We have our own dedicated patient restroom in the office so you won’t have to use the public restroom before, during or after your dental visit. We do our own janitorial so that we have fewer unknown people in our office and we disinfect the entire office each evening and each morning before any patients arrive. Additionally, if you are concerned at all about the stairwell or elevator area, feel free to use the rarely used outside stairwell on the north side of the building. That entrance (on the first floor) leads directly to the hallway by our office.

If you have any questions or concerns about specific things we do to help protect you and your family please do not hesitate to ask us.
