Salida Surgery Center treats children from ages 1-12 year of age, and those with Special Needs up to age 17, who need extensive dental work or children with anxiety of the Dentist. Get referred by your child's Primary Dentist.

This Independence Day, we’re celebrating the freedom to smile confidently! 🇺🇸 Whether you’re enjoying fireworks, BBQs, or family time, don’t forget to keep that smile sparkling bright as a firework.✨

Pro Tip: Sticky sweets, soda, and snacks can sneak up on your teeth. Rinse with water after treats, brush twice a day, and floss like your smile depends on it (because it does!).

🦷✨ Fun Facts About Little Teeth! ✨🦷

Hey parents & kiddos! Did you know your tiny human’s smile is way cooler than you think? Here are some tooth-tastic facts to make you grin:

Babies are born with teeth already “in stock” — Tooth buds start forming in the womb as early as 6 weeks pregnant! 😲

20 vs 32 — Kids only get 20 baby teeth, but they’re super important. They hold space for the 32 adult teeth coming later!

First tooth party — Most babies get their first tooth around 6 months, but some pop out as early as 3 months or as late as 12. Every smile timeline is unique!

They’re whiter… but softer — Baby teeth have thinner enamel, so they can get cavities faster. That’s why the “no juice in bed” rule exists, folks! 😂

The tooth fairy’s favorite — The very first tooth to fall out is usually a bottom front one. Make sure to take cute photos before the gap phase begins!

Pro tip: Start brushing as soon as that first tooth appears (rice-grain size of fluoride toothpaste). Those pearly whites deserve the best care!
