11/3 UPDATE: Whew! 🥵 What a week it has been! As we posted previously, two weeks ago we had a fire and subsequent flood at our office. While we are so hard at work restoring the office, our team has been taking full advantage of this down time to reconnect and soak up some amazing training opportunities. Today Dr. Brown and Jessica are attending a CE course in Denver for a new, robust product offering to help our wonderful patients! We have some amazing things coming on the horizon that we are so excited to share! 🎉

In the meantime, we will continue the restoration process to ensure the office is safe for patients and staff! Stay tuned for further updates!❤

How Is A Dental Implant Inserted?

Implants are inserted into the jaw bone and extend into the mouth for attachment to the replacement teeth. You will not see the implants as they will be under the pink gum tissues. The process is very comfortable, and it is easier to numb bone than it is to numb teeth.

Where implants have been placed and properly maintained, the tendency is to preserve the tooth supporting bone mass because the bone is being used somewhat in the same way it was when the natural teeth were present. Therefore, many of the negative consequences of tooth loss can be avoided when implants are placed in a timely manner.

For this reason, sometimes Dr. Brown will recommend that the dental implants be placed the same day that the tooth is removed. Other times, it is best to wait for two to four months for initial healing after tooth removal before placing the implants.

Nevertheless, the best time to place implants is within the first year after tooth removal.

If you have been missing teeth for many years and bone loss has occurred; dental implants can still likely be placed to prevent further deterioration. Dr. Brown will evaluate your particular situation and advise you on the best course of action.

Orthodontic treatment uses gentle pressure on your teeth that will eventually move them into the correct position. This produces a smile that not only looks better but works better as well. Sometimes orthodontic treatment can produce a “face lift” effect and help your jaw muscles function properly as well.

Many dentists will refer you out to a specialist to have orthodontic work done but at Relaxation Dental we do this in house. This means you are only coming to one place and often able to coordinate visits for more than one family member. We can also accommodate your child’s orthodontic treatment after school hours so they don’t miss school.

We create and install a whole range of devices designed to correct and prevent dental irregularities and promote healthy smiles.
