Technology matters—especially when it comes to your child’s care. 🦷

At Shiny Happy Smiles, we use a CO2 laser for tongue-tie and lip-tie procedures because it offers incredible precision and can lead to a more comfortable experience for our patients. If your child has been diagnosed with a tongue tie or lip tie, make sure you’re asking about the technology being used and how it may impact treatment and healing.

Want to learn more about laser tongue-tie treatment and whether it’s right for your child? Send us a message or schedule a consultation today. 💙

Fun fact about me: before marathons, I could barely run a mile 😅

I picked up running during COVID as a way to stay active and clear my mind, and somehow it turned into one of my biggest passions. Since then, I’ve completed 5Ks, 10Ks, and even full marathons in New York and Chicago.

Running constantly reminds me that growth takes time, consistency, and a willingness to keep going even when things feel tough — something I try to bring into my life and my work every day. 🏃‍♂️🦷

‼️Sleeping with a bottle can destroy a toddler’s teeth faster than most parents realize‼️

These before & after photos are the same 3-year-old patient. Overnight milk exposure + thin pediatric enamel led to severe early childhood cavities in just a short amount of time.

The good news? We were able to fully restore this smile with zirconia crowns and pediatric dental treatment.

Early prevention matters more than you think.

Mouth breathing in children may be more serious than you think 🧠

When kids can’t breathe properly through their nose during sleep, it can affect oxygen flow, sleep quality, facial growth, and even healthy brain development. Chronic mouth breathing is often a sign of an airway blockage or underlying pediatric dental issue that should be addressed early.

The good news? Early intervention can make a huge difference. Identifying airway issues, sleep-disordered breathing, enlarged tonsils, or improper oral development early can help support better sleep, improved focus, healthy growth, and long-term overall health.

If your child snores, sleeps with their mouth open, grinds their teeth, or seems tired during the day, it may be time for an evaluation. Come visit us!

When kids don’t get quality sleep, the part of the brain responsible for focus, emotional regulation, and impulse control can start to struggle — which can look a LOT like ADHD.

Hyperactivity. Trouble focusing. Big emotions. Impulsive behavior.Sometimes the root issue isn’t behavior… it’s sleep. 💤

Come visit Shiny Happy Smiles for an airway evaluation! 🤍
