The Florida National Guard (FLNG) Family Program staff consists of a trained network of military members, contract employees and volunteers working as a team in support of military Families. The FLNG Family Program consists of Family Readiness, Family Assistance and the Child & Youth Program, each of which are outlined below:
Family Readiness:
Family Readiness is a network of support and educatio
n for Family and friends of Service members through all phases of deployment. The FRG is:
- an information conduit between the unit, families, friends, and community
- referral for resources and benefits
- a source of social support and group activities
Family Assistance:
Family Assistance provides mandated information and referral services regarding benefits and entitlements to military Families and Service members. Family Assistance Centers are geographically disbursed throughout the state to assist DoD Military Families during all levels of mobilization. All uniformed service members and retired uniformed service personnel and their family members, active, reserve, retired or civilian employees and surviving family members of military personnel are eligible for assistance. The services provided, but not limited to:
- ID Cards/DEERS Referral
- TriCare/Dental Referral
- Emergency Financial Referral
- Legal Referral
- Crisis Referral
- Community Information and Outreach
Child and Youth program (904-599-5472/904-814-1866):
The Child and Youth program supports the social, emotional and academic needs of military children and youth. It encourages the development of positive self-esteem, self-confidence, respect for self and others, team skills, and leadership abilities. Programs and Services include:
- Deployment Cycle Support
- Youth Activities
- Educational Support
- State and Local Youth Groups
- Child Care Referral
