Dr. Randazzo is back at Randazzo Dental Associates today after an unforgettable journey through Kenya — filled with culture, wildlife, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences! 🇰🇪
During this meaningful two-week mission trip, Dr. Randazzo had the opportunity to immerse himself in Kenya’s rich traditions and natural beauty:
🦁 He visited the Maasai Mara tribe, where he learned about their history, homes, and fascinating customs. One standout tradition involves young men spending 4–5 years living in the wild and returning with a lion head — and Dr. Randazzo had the honor of participating in their traditional dancing rituals, wearing the lion headpiece. He also observed and learned how the tribe creates fire using traditional techniques — an incredible display of skill and resourcefulness.
🐘 He visited an elephant orphanage, where orphaned elephants are rescued, rehabilitated, and released back into the wild — an inspiring conservation effort.
☕️ Dr. Randazzo toured a local coffee plantation, gaining insight into how Kenya produces some of the world’s finest coffee. Interestingly, despite being a major exporter, most Kenyans prefer tea or a traditional medicinal drink called dawa.
🐆 While on safari, Dr. Randazzo experienced the thrill of seeing wild animals up close, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards in their natural habitat.
🏡 Additionally, he visited local homes and village markets, where he gained a deeper appreciation for the culture, daily life, and resilience of the communities he met.
This trip was a humbling and enriching experience for Dr. Randazzo — a reminder of the power of connection, learning, and giving back. He is grateful to be back at the office today, inspired and ready to care for his patients once again.
Attached are some photos from the trip — we hope you enjoy them!
