⚖️Let’s clear some things up with Myth VS Fact: Dental Edition!

1. Brush your teeth nice & hard.
❌ Myth: There is no need to brush your teeth hard. It can cause damage to the tooth surface & cause your gums to recede. Softer brushing in a circular motion is best.

2. Healthy mouth = Healthy you!
✅ Fact: Gum disease isn’t just about your gums - it’s been linked to heart issues & more. People with gum disease have 2-3 times the risk of heart attack or stroke.

3. Just brush your teeth, don’t brush your gums.
❌ Myth: You should focus on the gum line as well when brushing your teeth. This is where all the plaque sits. Place the toothbrush half on your teeth & half on the gums.

4. Not all mouthwash is created equal.
✅ Fact: Mouthwash can be a refreshing finishing touch to your oral routine - but choose wisely, or you might do more harm than good. For example: some alcohol-based mouthwash can dry out your mouth. Saliva saves the day!

5. You don’t have to floss everyday.
❌ Myth: Skipping daily flossing means that you’re leaving behind 35-40% of your tooth surface uncleaned! Your toothbrush does a goos job on the surfaces it can reach, but not to those tight spaces in between teeth.
