"Do I really need a deep cleaning, or is that an upsell?" — one of the most common questions we get from new Round Rock patients.

Short answer: gum disease is measurable. We look for clinical attachment loss of 4mm or more — calculated from pocket depth plus gum recession — along with tartar below the gumline on X-rays and bleeding when we measure. If it's there, a deep cleaning helps your gums heal. If it's not, a regular cleaning is all you need — and any dentist recommending more should show you the numbers.
