Could brushing your teeth affect your brain health? Gum disease is caused by bacterial infections that inflame the tissues supporting the teeth. Left untreated, it can lead to tooth loss and systemic inflammation. Recent large-scale research, including a study published by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), suggests that the bacteria and inflammatory molecules from gum disease may travel through the bloodstream, affecting other organs, including the brain. Regular dental check-ups and proper oral hygiene are essential for long-term health.

Hard to believe it is almost time again for the "The Great Minnesota Get-Together"! Many of our team members and patients love the MN State Fair. Did you know these fun facts? Enjoy the fair!
-It began in 1854 as a territorial fair to highlight agriculture and encourage farming in the region and became the Minnesota State Fair in 1859, a year after Minnesota was granted statehood.
-The Ye Old Mill is the oldest attraction on the fairgrounds, offering a relaxing boat ride in a dark tunnel.
-The two mascots names are: Fairchild and Fairborne. Fairchild is Fairborne's uncle.
-The Minnesota State Fair employs nearly 80 year-round full-time staff members and approximately 150 seasonal and 1,750 fair-time staff members.
-The Mouth Trap uses 65,000 pounds of cheese each year to make their deep-fried cheese curds.
-There are nearly 300 food concessions located throughout the fairgrounds.
-Sweet Martha’s Cookie Jar can produce 3 million cookies in one day, on their busiest.

National Align Your Teeth Day is August 11th!
Why is it important to have aligned teeth you might ask? Proper alignment enhances tooth and jaw function, this maximizes long-term oral health and comfort. Proper alignment increases the longevity of dentistry. Both your natural teeth and your restorations will last longer. Having straight teeth also makes it easier for you and the dental hygienist to keep them clean. Ask us if you are a candidate for improved alignment at your next dental visit!
