Matteo and I are learning the most up to date recommendations for treatment at the AAO Virtual Winter Conference. This conference is focused particularly on the relationship between Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. So many orthodontic problems can be prevented by identifying them early. Prevention is better than treatment! Right now we are learning how to prevent the harmful effects of pacifiers. If pacifier use is absolutely necessary, it is essential to make sure the correct size is selected for your baby.

We are excited to introduce these awesome siblings- two of our newest patients! They just started their orthodontic treatment with palate expanders. Palate expansion is necessary to establish this ideal width of the palate before moving teeth with braces. Traditional palate expansion only works up until a certain age and maturity, so it is important to be evaluated by an orthodontist early. They were also lucky winners of brand new special edition Oral-B toothbrushes. These brushes will be very useful in keeping those expanders clean! ✨
