Please join us in welcoming Dr. Zachary Gorgone, DDS, to the Long Island Dental Excellence team! 🦷✨

Today marked Dr. Gorgone’s first day seeing patients, and we are so excited to have him officially join Dr. Michael Heiss, the Clinical Director of Long Island Dental Excellence, and Dr. Demetrios Tsiokos, our Board-Certified Periodontist, in providing exceptional, comprehensive dental care to our community.

Dr. Gorgone brings advanced expertise in Implant Dentistry and Prosthodontics, backed by an intensive three-year fellowship dedicated to these specialized areas of dentistry. His passion lies in providing personalized, compassionate care while helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles they can feel great about.

We couldn’t be happier to welcome Dr. Gorgone to the Long Island Dental Excellence family, and he looks forward to meeting all of our wonderful patients in the weeks ahead!

Celebrating 44 Incredible Years of Dentistry 🦷🎉📸

After an extraordinary 44-year career in dentistry and 38 years caring for the Rockville Centre community, Dr. Michael J. Rechter has officially hung up his scrubs and begun a very well-deserved retirement!

For nearly four decades, Dr. Rechter poured his heart into Long Island Dental Excellence, growing the practice from a small dental office into the thriving practice and dental family it is today. Along the way, he cared for generations of patients, embraced innovations that helped transform modern dentistry, and built relationships that extended far beyond the dental chair.

As Dr. Rechter has said, “I’ve literally had patients with me since day one. It’s really a relationship. I’m so grateful.” ❤️

That same gratitude is shared by all of us. Dr. Rechter’s commitment to exceptional care, patient trust, artistry, and innovation created a legacy that will remain at the heart of Long Island Dental Excellence for many years to come. Dr. Michael Heiss and our entire team are honored to carry that legacy forward into this next chapter.

While Dr. Rechter may be retiring from dentistry, he certainly isn’t retiring from his passions! 📸 We know he’ll be spending plenty of time behind the camera pursuing his award-winning photography, traveling, and enjoying more time with his wife Cheryl, their dog Ziggy, his children Melissa and Scott, and, of course, his grandchildren.

Dr. Rechter, thank you for 44 remarkable years of changing smiles, building relationships, mentoring others, and making such a lasting impact on this practice and community. We are incredibly grateful for everything you have built and wish you nothing but happiness, adventure, great photographs, and lots of family time in this exciting new chapter.
