If you haven’t heard…
Our office would like to let our parents and patients know that Dr. Zak has retired from the practice. Dr. Zak will be here until his current orthodontic cases are completed.
Dr Zak will be at the office to introduce any children with special needs to the new Dr for a comfortable transition. If special accommodations are needed please do not hesitate to call our office and we will make arrangements. Dr. Zak would like to thank his patients for the years they’ve been with him.
Now let’s meet Dr. Abbas!!
Our office would like to introduce our new dentist, Dr. Abbas. A native of the Chicagoland area, Dr. Abbas completed his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University and then went east to complete a master's degree at the Yale School of Public Health in New Haven, CT. He stayed on the east coast for another 4 years and completed his doctorate degree at the Boston University School of Dental medicine. After finishing his dental degree in Boston, Dr. Abbas came back to the Midwest and completed an AEGD (advanced education in general dentistry) residency at the VA medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Dr. Abbas's first job after residency was treating children at a community health clinic in Elgin, IL. Since then, Dr. Abbas has been treating children and special needs patients, and devotes a significant portion of his clinical practice to treating patients under general anesthesia.
Dr. Abbas brings more than 15 years of experience as a dentist to the Rockford community. For years, he has been a referral source in the Chicagoland community for cases requiring treatment under general anesthesia.
Outside the office, Dr. Abbas enjoys spending time with his brother, sister, and their families, especially playing favorite uncle to his six nieces and nephews. Dr. Abbas also enjoys traveling, including an annual trip to Mexico to work in a free clinic with pre-dental students. A devoted sports fan, he enjoys watching his beloved Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears.
