Two of the most common conditions we want to treat early are (1) excess crowding in the upper arch and (2) crossbite. When patients are young (ideally 7-9 years old), we can take advantage of growth and expand the upper jaw to create space for permanent teeth as well as improve the relationship between the upper and lower teeth without surgery.

We treated this patient with an expander and upper braces to increase the width of his upper jaw and relieve the crowding of his upper teeth in just 12 months.

Early orthodontic treatment is all about laying the foundation for the future! This sweet patient came to us with significant crowding of her upper teeth and one of her upper teeth was in crossbite (stuck behind the lower teeth when biting down).

Our goals for this kiddo were the following:
-reduce the upper crowding to provide better space for the permanent teeth to grow into the mouth
-correct the crossbite to prevent excess wear on the front teeth

We treated her with an expander and some upper braces and achieved a gorgeous result in just 11 months! 🤩

This patient had severe upper crowding so we treated with extraction of two upper teeth and upper and lower braces. In the end we got nice alignment and occlusion. 💚
