While our office was never affected by the water main break, here's the latest information for our patients and the community affected by this:
WATER MAIN UPDATE #8 (May 13, 2:15pm)
The Water Use Restrictions for residents in Rochester Hills are no more! However, if you are in the Boil Water Advisory area, that remains in place until water quality testing is completed.
We received word a little while ago that the Great Lakes Water Authority 42-inch main is back in service and our team has also returned our system to its normal operating state. Pressures in our system have returned to normal, and residents can resume regular water use.
Residents and businesses may see some pressure fluctuations, air in their lines, and cloudy water as water returns to our system from the newly installed main. If you are in the Boil Water Advisory area, remember to keep boiling your water, but also feel free to run your water for a bit to flush your lines.
We are not certain at this time when water quality testing will begin, but will share that update once we have it. We do know that two clean tests, 24 hours apart are required before the Boil Water Advisory is lifted. Once it is lifted, we will communicate that along with some tips from Oakland County Health on what to do at your own home.
These past few days havenβt been easy, but we think you should also know how fortunate we are to have the very best professionals on our team. Interim DPS Director Tracey Balint and Water & Sewer Operations Manager Leon Luedeman are rockstars. They had a plan, executed their plan, and delivered. We never lost water in our system and avoided any major issues. Their leadership, and the work of their teams, has been vital and they deserve to be recognized for it.
