Dr. Sheppard’s passion for pediatric dentistry began in his childhood when he shadowed his own dentist, discovering how those visits could be both healthy and fun. Committed to making every dental experience positive for your child, Dr. Sheppard offers the highest level of patient care. To achieve this, Dr. Sheppard pursued extensive additional study and completed multiple residencies, specializing in pediatric dentistry and special healthcare needs dentistry. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a status that requires completing a rigorous certification process and maintaining annual renewal to ensure continued excellence. Dr. Sheppard is also a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Navy Officer, he served as a dentist on the USS Bataan (LHD-5) and traveled the world. After his military service, he returned to the Medical University of South Carolina to complete his pediatric dentistry residency. With over a decade of practice in Roanoke, Dr. Sheppard continues to serve as a member of the College of Diplomates and is a distinguished Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
