Job description:
Greet patients, assist the doctor, clean rooms and instruments, take x-rays, etc.
Two doctor practice. No weekends. Only two possible nights, Wed.: till 8 and Thurs.: till 6 pm.

We are looking for a new dental assistant who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. We are willing to train. We are a private office who take pride in our work and our long relationships with our patients. Most of our staff has been with us for many years and we are looking for the next long term employee.

You’ll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers in the dental office
Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
Sterilize instruments according to regulations
Assist the dentist through 4-handed dentistry
Undertake lab tasks as instructed
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
Keep the dental room clean and well-stocked
Schedule appointments
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures
Skills

Proven experience as dental assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
Attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)

Very excited to announce that we are reopening for all elective treatment on Tuesday May 26th!

Please know that we are still taking all necessary precautions. Prior to your appointment you will be asked to have your temperature taken and answer a series of questions to ensure the safety of our staff and other patients. The same protocol will stand for all employees.

Extra time will be allotted to each patient to allow for enhanced disinfection. We do ask that you come alone to your appointments if possible and if you arrive early you may be asked to wait in your car until your appointment time to maintain social distancing between multiple patients. Thank you so much to our patients for being so understanding at this time and we cannot wait to see you !
