RE: Cerec Training
Dear Wayne,
As you know, I am employed by Dr. Mark Davis in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He recently purchased the CEREC CAD/CAM, milling unit and glazing oven. I was a little concerned when he informed me that he was making this decision since I had worked previously with Dr. Madrid Uso who purchased CEREC in January 2008.
Dr. Uso chose to go to the Bellevue training site instead of the “in office” training. He took me along to observe the training as well as his assistant. I can honestly say I’m not sure just how much any of us got out of sitting in a room with no less than eight dentist and at least one staff member. Although I’m certain the training personnel were very knowledgeable, I’m not certain that Dr. Uso received adequate training compared to that which Dr. Davis received by having a dentist on site to train him.
I personally was Dr. Davis’ first live patient during the in office training and Dr. Waldron was right there and able to answer any questions or concerns Dr. Davis had. I truly believe Dr. Davis’ success with CEREC will be directly related to the three days of intense hands on training he has received.
On the business side of things, purchasing the CEREC is a large investment in the practice. I believe Dr. Davis deserves the one on one attention he has received to further his return on this investment.
My position is pretty unique in that I’ve had the opportunity to see both of your training methods. I just wanted you to know I really believe the in office training is much more beneficial to the success of not only Dr. Davis’ practice but other dentists who are using CEREC.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any comments regarding this letter.
Sincerely,
Valarie Caulfield
