Happy Wednesday and a good time to share a life changing case for this young lady as we slow down to appreciate the meaningful things in life with Thanksgiving tomorrow.
This patient was congenitally missing both her maxillary lateral incisors when I first met her when she was only 15 years old. She was constantly struggling to deal with hiding the spaces with a Essex retainer or a removable appliance throughout her teen years. The life changing event occurred when she was old enough to have me place two dental implants along with ceramic restorations that replicated the unique secondary and tertiary dental anatomy that she had in the adjacent native teeth. I believe it is these life changing treatments that we do for our patients is what I am most thankful for! Swipe left to see the life changing images. 🙏

It’s all about loving what we do. I can’t imagine having to do something I don’t have a passion for just to make a living and pay the bills. This thank you note was from a dental student I recently spoke to at her university and it really hits home to be appreciated for what I love to do. I Feel incredibly blessed to be able to potentially inspire my future peers. 🙏🙏🙏

Happy Friday with another fun composite veneer case involving six teeth from canine to canine in one appointment. This case was achieved by using a closed flap “Trans-Sulcular Osseous Surgery” esthetic crown lengthening technique using the KB-1 chisel where the soft tissue and osseous tissue architecture is altered to allow same day placement of the composite veneers. This technique provides a very efficient workflow by addressing the predictable biology of the gums as well as the timely esthetic treatment for the patient. These innovative and predictable techniques is what makes it so personally fulfilling as well as super fun everyday! 😊 Have a great weekend and swipe left to see the full face shot.

Aristotle once said that “educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” But, what do we mean when we speak of educating the heart? In short, I believe it means educating others with a genuine unconditional passion for teaching.
I had a great time presenting to the students of the UCLA school of dentistry last weekend. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you to Boston University’s Student Dental Aesthetics Society for inviting me out to speak and do a live hands-on program on composite veneers to a full house of attendees on a Thursday evening after what I am sure was a long full day of other academic events for the students. It is the passion demonstrated by these dental students whom in a very few short years will become my peers in this wonderful profession called the practice of dentistry that gives me the drive to do my small part in contributing to their future success in cosmetic dentistry. Also a special thank you to the president of the Boston University Student Dental Aesthetics Society, Emily Chan her amazing board members and her school faculty for organizing and putting the efforts in to make this a successful event! 👏👏👏 Cheers!

Happy Halloween everyone and it’s time for another fun case.🎃 Can you see where the dental implant is in this patient? I do all my own surgeries including implant placement because it gives me complete control of the workflow to get a consistent outcome especially in the aesthetic zone. The key to an successful aesthetic implant outcome is not only determined by where the bone or aft tissue is or is not but also where the location of the free gingival margin of the new restoration will be. It is paramount to determine the proposed free gingival margin in the workflow from the very beginning and proper steps taken to determine how to get to those parameters.
Swipe left to see which tooth was restored with an implant and understand why the workflow description above is so critical for an aesthetic result. Cheers!😊
