If your maximum coverage dental benefit is not used during the year, you lose those dental benefits because unused coverage does not carry over to the next year. After your teeth have been brushed, they should be flossed, at least once a day, to remove any food particles stuck in between the teeth. Take a length of floss and gently clean the spaces on the sides of your teeth, even those not touching another tooth. Regular flossing will keep your family’s gums healthy, preventing gingivitis and other gum diseases that, besides giving their smiles an unhealthy appearance, can lead to tooth loss.
