I can get to my page again! After struggling with this off and on over the last couple of years I was able to log in on the computer!
Hopefully that won't change. Previously I had been told I had a "gray" account and it would be removed. Glad to see it is still here. Promise to post again now that access is restored.

Yesterday I got my 2nd Covid vaccination! The process went quickly at the HCC campus in Missouri City.

While the governor has relaxed mask guidelines the rules for dental offices have not. The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and the governor's office have left the precautions we have followed since May 4th 2020 in place.

We will continue to screen temperatures, require masks for patients in common areas. Staff, whether vaccinated or not will wear masks in the the office. We will continue to use UV -c lights as part of our decontamination process for treatment rooms.

While no one can tell for certain when things will be "normal" again. I am optimistic we will be much closer next fall. Stay Safe!

Back up to Full Speed….With Some Changes
For the last two weeks we have been taking it slow and easing back into our regular work schedule. It’s been great to be with each other and to see all of you again.
We are back to our regular schedule this week. We have a few favors to ask of our patients and their families going forward. As you can see from the photo of our reception area, there will be very limited seating. This is to comply with the social distancing measures mandated by the Governor’s office and our Dental State Board. You know we are normally thrilled when our patients arrive early for their appointments, but for the time being we would ask that you arrive just in time. We ask that, if you can, come to your appointment alone. If the reception area is full, we may need to ask that drivers and guests for patients wait in their cars. Everyone who comes in, whether or not they are being treated, will be required to use the hand sanitizer and to wear a mask for as long as they are in the reception area.
You’ll also see that we will be greeting you with masks, gowns and face shields in place this is also due to current safety guidelines.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding!
Dr. McCrea, Dr.Vo, and Team

Wear a Mask!
Do it for your neighbor’s safety!

We all know someone whose health is not as good as ours. These folks are older, have diabetes, were a smokers, have had heart disease or cancer. These are the people we are protecting.

Wearing mask reduces the number infected at any one time. Why is that important?
1. Reducing spreading lets more attention be paid to the sickest people.
2. Fewer people getting sick at a time lets treatments be developed. Getting sick in September is likely to go better than in March. The medical doctors will have improved their protocols for treating this disease and for managing the side effects of it. Eventually it will be managed where the consequences are more in line with a normal bout of the seasonal flu. Given time medications will be found to improve the treatment of the infection. Right now the consequences can be much worse.
3. Slowing the spread down allows time for vaccines to be developed and tested.
4. Wearing a mask and slowing the spread allows for the supply chain to continue to ramp up and for supplies of critical personal protective gear to build back to pre-Corona Virus levels. At the office we are still scrambling to find gowns, masks and gloves.

It's Awesome that your health is good! We have to take care of those that aren’t as lucky! Our actions as group can give them the best chance to stay healthy.
Stay Safe!

We're Open!

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding through this difficult time. We've missed all of you and are excited to see you again. We have been busy updating our protocols and things will be a little different for a while. We will be following guidance from the Governor's Office, the State Board of Dental Examiners, the CDC, and OSHA. Our goal is, as it has always been, for everyone to be as safe as possible.

We are doing a phased opening, working out our new protocols as we get back up to full speed.
Dr. McCrea has started seeing patients already and is focusing on patients who had the most urgent needs prior to our shut down. Dr. Vo is returning on Wednesday of next week. Finally, your favorite hygienists, Mayra and Prissy, will be coming back on May 18th.

All of our team have learned the signs of Corona Virus infection, and how to avoid it in their personal lives. Anyone with any symptoms that are questionable will be encouraged to stay home and to be evaluated by medical personnel. We will all be checking everyone's temperature twice daily.

We have been sending out a "Welcome Back" email and text outlining what to do before you come in and what to expect when you get here. There is a link included directing you to a COVID Questionnaire to fill out prior to your appointment. We are asking you come alone if possible since we have had to "Socially Distance" our reception area chairs. We will be asking everyone in the reception area to wear a mask. If the waiting room starts to become full we may need to ask some of the companions to wait in their cars. You will be asked to use alcohol based hand sanitizer in the waiting room. Kris will be wearing a mask and will take your temperature with a no touch, IR thermometer.

Appointments will be spaced out more than usual to minimize contact with other patients. Normally, we are very happy to have you arrive early for your appointments. For now, arriving closer to your actual appointment time will be best. We will try to meet you as you come in and take you straight back to the treatment area. Your assistant will be masked and gowned for your treatment.

In the treatment area you will be asked to rinse with a virus reducing peroxide rinse. I will be gowned up and wearing a mask when I come in as well.

The goal of all these precautions is to minimize the potential spread of Corona Virus from asymptomatic persons to others. We will keep these heightened measures in place until our public health officials advise otherwise.

Thank you for helping us and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Hello from all of us from home! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. The Jasmine is blooming behind the office. Unfortunately, due to ongoing concerns about surges of infection adversely affecting our population, we have been ordered by Governor Greg Abbott to remain closed to all elective dental procedures until May 11th.The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners confirmed this order last night. Executive Order GA-15 states licensed dental professionals may not perform elective procedures before May 8.

We will be contacting patients who had appointments scheduled before May 11th to discuss how we will be handling reappointing them.

We will also be using this additional time to enhance our disinfection and sterilization protocols.

There will also be changes to the process of coming in for appointments. For our patients’ safety, there will be a Questionnaire that must be filled out and sent back via the appointment reminder patient portal 24 hours prior to the appointment. Patients who do not have access to text or email, can request that we mail them the form in advance so that they can bring them to their appointment. We will be taking everyone’s temperature prior to bringing them back to the treatment area. There will also be a hand sanitizing station as you enter the office. We request that you wear a mask to have on in the reception area ( not in the chair-even if you would rather wear it there ;). We will have light masks for you if you forget.

I will be posting more information here and on our website www.mccreadds.com as we get closer to opening again.
Stay Healthy, Stay Happy, Stay Safe!

Good Afternoon,
I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. We are all well here. Most of us are staying home to help "Flatten the Curve". A few of us are at the office in the morning to help patients with emergencies and complete paperwork that never really stops happening.
We had Coit services out to steam clean and disinfect all of our surfaces, flooring and furniture last week and we are keeping up with all of our normal cleaning procedures.
We are keeping abreast of all the news concerning when we may be able to safely see our patients again. Yesterday the Governor reset the date to April 30th.
We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
Take care,
Kyle and Team

03/23/2020

Due to the continuing threat of Covid 19 and in accordance with the directive from Governor Greg Abbott, we will be closing the office for all elective dental treatment until April 22nd.

If you have a dental emergency, please contact us and we'll take care of you. If you're in pain, have a broken tooth, or an abscess, please call or text us
If you have essential ongoing treatment with us, we will be reaching out to each of you individually. In the event of a Shelter in Place order, we may not be able to contact you. Do not worry, we will contact you as soon as possible. We will not forget you, I promise.
For future updates, visit us on Facebook. Dr. McCrea will post often to let you know where we are in preparing to see all of you again.
We wish you all good health. Please know that we will get through this together!

Be safe,

The team at Kyle D. McCrea DDS

Dr. Vo has a crazy hobby! She ran in the Houston Marathon! She trained for months to run the ½ marathon. She ran a personal best. When asked if she was going to do it again, her answer was, “No way!”
She doesn’t even look tired in her photo! Congratulations Dr. Vo!
