A child’s mouth is supposed to stay closed at rest.

And mouth breathing doesn’t always look obvious.

Sometimes it’s the child whose mouth is hanging wide open. But sometimes it’s much more subtle — the lips are just slightly parted.

Both can be signs of mouth breathing.

When the mouth is habitually open, it can affect more than breathing. Over time, it may influence tongue posture, oral and facial development, sleep quality, and overall airway health.

And here’s the important part: we don’t just want to tell a child to “close your mouth.”

We want to ask WHY their mouth is open in the first place.

Can they breathe comfortably through their nose?
Is there chronic congestion?
Are the tonsils or adenoids enlarged?
Is the palate narrow?
Is tongue posture playing a role?

👀 Take a look at your child when they’re watching TV, riding in the car, doing homework, or sleeping.

Are their lips comfortably closed — or even slightly open?

Sometimes the smallest signs tell us the most.

A child who isn’t breathing well at night may not always look like a child with a sleep or airway problem.

Sometimes it looks like mouth breathing.
Sometimes it’s bedwetting, restless sleep or night sweats.
Sometimes it shows up during the day as difficulty focusing, big emotions, behavior struggles or daytime sleepiness.

These symptoms don’t automatically mean your child has an airway issue—but they are clues worth paying attention to.

Healthy sleep starts with healthy breathing. And sometimes, the first step is simply knowing what to look for.

If you recognize several of these signs in your child, an airway and breathing screening may help connect the dots.

Ever wake up around 3:00 a.m. with your mind racing?

You fall asleep just fine...

Then suddenly you're wide awake.

Your heart may be beating a little faster.

Your brain starts making lists.

You wonder why you can't just go back to sleep.

Many people assume it's simply stress.

Sometimes it is.

But sometimes it's biology.

When your body senses a problem during sleep, such as unstable blood sugar, poor breathing, or fragmented sleep, it can release stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline to help keep you safe. Those hormones don't just wake your body. They wake your mind.

That middle-of-the-night "second wind" isn't always a sign that your body is working against you. It may be your body's way of protecting you.

The question isn't just "How do I get back to sleep?"

It's "Why did my body wake me up in the first place?"

That's exactly the kind of connection we'll explore during our free What's Next? Wellness Workshop. We'll connect the dots between sleep, breathing, metabolism, hormones, and the symptoms that leave so many people searching for answers.

Before you scroll...

Can I ask you something?

Have you ever thought...

"Why am I still tired when I'm sleeping more?"

"Why can't I lose weight when I'm doing everything 'right'?"

"Why do I wake up at 3:00 a.m.?"

"Why is my brain so foggy?"

"Why do I feel like my body is working against me?"

What if those aren't separate problems?

What if they're connected?

Tomorrow evening, we're hosting a free What's Next? Wellness Workshop to explore how sleep, breathing, metabolism, hormones, inflammation, and stress all influence one another.

You don't need another quick fix.

You need a roadmap.

If you've been looking for answers, we'd love to have you join us.

How many symptoms does your body have to give you before you'll believe they're connected?

Before you keep scrolling...

Count how many of these you've experienced in the past year.

□ Poor sleep
□ Afternoon crashes
□ Weight that won't budge
□ Brain fog
□ Heartburn
□ Headaches
□ Needing caffeine just to function

How many did you check?

We often treat each one as a separate problem.

A pill for reflux.

Coffee for fatigue.

A diet for weight gain.

A sleep aid for insomnia.

But what if they're all part of the same conversation your body has been trying to have with you?

That's what we'll explore at our FREE What's Next? Wellness Workshop.

Because when you stop chasing symptoms and start recognizing patterns, your next step becomes much clearer.

Somewhere along the way, many of us started introducing ourselves by our symptoms.

"I have IBS."
"I'm prediabetic."
"I'm exhausted."
"I just have bad hormones."

But those aren't your identity.

They're clues.

Symptoms are your body's way of communicating that something deeper needs attention.

At our What's Next? Wellness Workshop, we're going beyond symptom management. We'll show you how to connect the dots between sleep, breathing, hormones, metabolism, stress, and inflammation so you can understand what your body has been trying to tell you all along.

Because healing doesn't start by fighting your body.

It starts by understanding it.
