🦷 Parents: Your words matter more than you think. ❤️

Before your child’s dental appointment, try to avoid using words or phrases that can unintentionally create fear or anxiety.

🚫 Instead of saying:
❌ “It won’t hurt.”
❌ “Don’t worry.”
❌ “If you’re good, you’ll get a prize.”
❌ “It’s just a shot.”
❌ “They’re going to fix your teeth.”

✅ Try saying:
• “The dentist is going to count and clean your teeth.”
• “We’ll take pictures of your smile.”
• “The dental team is going to help keep your teeth healthy.”
• “I’ll be with you the whole time.”
• “You can always ask questions.”

Children often take their emotional cues from their parents. By using calm, positive, and reassuring language, you’re helping build confidence—not fear—and setting the stage for a lifetime of healthy dental visits.

➡️ A root fracture is one of the most frustrating dental problems because it often cannot be repaired. Bacteria travel down the fracture line, leading to chronic infection, bone loss, and persistent symptoms. Even a beautifully performed root canal cannot save a tooth once the root has split.
