After many conversations, a lot of planning, and a shared belief that in expanding access to dental care for our communities, we are excited to officially share that Dental Care, PC will be joining Montgomery County Memorial Hospital and Clinics as part of a new Downtown Rural Health Clinic opening in early 2027.

For our patients, the most important thing to know is this: Dr. Truka and our dental team are staying right here. Your care, your records, and the relationships we have built over the years will continue forward.

This next chapter allows us to grow in ways that simply were not possible before and will help expand access to dental care for more individuals and families across our region. We are incredibly hopeful about what this means for the future of rural healthcare and for this community we care so deeply about.

We are grateful for the support, trust, and kindness our patients have shown us throughout the years, and we are excited to continue this journey together.

MCMH is excited to announce in partnership with Dental Care PC & Dr. Kim Truka plans for a new Downtown Rural Health Clinic opening in early 2027, bringing dental, primary care, urgent care, and eventually behavioral health services together under one roof.

Today, May 27th the MCMH Board of Trustees voted to approve a resolution authorizing MCMH to begin the acquisition of Dental Care, PC, led by Dr. Kim Truka, DDS.

This integrated model is anticipated to be the first of its kind in Iowa and is designed to expand access to care for rural communities while helping patients receive coordinated services close to home.

Current Dental Care, PC patients do not need to take any action. Care teams, patient records, and established relationships will continue seamlessly.
We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Truka, her team, and the many partners who helped make this vision possible.

Connection between the mouth 👄 and the ❤️

An untreated cavity is more than just a dental problem. It’s an open pathway for bacteria to enter the body. If decay reaches the inner layer of the tooth in can enter the bloodstream. From there bacteria can travel and in some cases reach the heart.
Research shows oral infections increase the bodies inflammatory burden, putting strain on the cardiovascular system.

This is a strong example of how oral health directly impacts overall health. Timely dental treatment, regular check ups and good oral hygiene are about protecting life.
