Poking the tongue out between the lips is a common reflex in babies associated with feeding. This behavior occurs in most babies and is something they outgrow naturally. However, knowing when thrusting becomes a problem can help you respond promptly.

They’re just baby teeth… they’re going to fall out anyway.”

We hear this one all the time — but baby teeth have a BIG job.

They help your child:
Chew and eat comfortably
Speak and develop sounds properly Hold space and guide adult teeth into the right position
Support healthy jaw and facial development
Smile, laugh, and feel confident

And some baby teeth stick around until age 12 or even later!

Cavities in baby teeth can cause pain, infection, difficulty eating, and sometimes problems for the developing permanent teeth underneath.

So yes, they eventually fall out… but until then, baby teeth matter. A lot. 🦷✨

Save this for the next time someone says, “But it’s just a baby tooth!”

When a teen tells us they never drink soda, sports drinks, energy drinks or anything sugary… but we’re seeing white spot lesions all over their teeth. 👀🦷

White spots can be an early sign that enamel is losing minerals—and frequent sipping on sugary or acidic drinks is often part of the story.

We’re not judging. 😂 We’re just trying to figure out what’s causing it so we can stop it before it becomes a cavity.

Because sometimes… the teeth have receipts. 🧾🦷
