Dr. Kent also offers significant support to local schools, scout troops, dance studios, sports teams, churches and other groups and organizations – which seems as much a part of his passion as is his profession. A native of Ohio, Dr. Kent received undergraduate degrees in chemistry and zoology at UNC-Chapel Hill and achieved both a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and a Master of Orthodontic Sciences degree at Washington University of St. He’s thrilled to help create smiles that have a major effect on self-image and self-esteem. “What most don't realize is that orthodontics is a lot more than straight teeth. The transformation a patient goes through in having orthodontic treatment is a life changing process.”

Technology is also a big part of Carolina Braces, which is one of Raleigh’s leading providers of Damon Smile, the new generation of braces that eliminates the need for rubber bands and are much smaller, smoother, and less irritating to cheeks and gums. Carolina Braces is Raleigh's only Elite Invisalign Adult and Teen Provider and provides patients with a comfortable, impression-free experience by using 3D imaging using Invisalign's iTero scanner. 🦷 Don’t forget those rubber bands! 🦷

Rubber bands are a small part of your orthodontic treatment, but they make a BIG difference. They are essential because they apply continuous pressure that’s needed to move teeth and align your bite properly.

Without that consistent pressure, your teeth may not move into their ideal positions, which can slow down your progress and delay the results you’re working toward.

⏰ The secret to staying on schedule? Those little rubber bands.
