✨ Dr. Mary has been in full swing around here, and things have been changing fast! ✨

When you come in, you may notice we’ve started using computers and digital X-rays as we get everything ready for our move to the new building! 🤩
It’s exciting… but it’s also made our current space a little crowded! 😅

The tight squeeze is temporary, but the upgrades are here to stay! 🙌🏻

💡…And then there were … LIGHTS! 🤩

Y’all know I get excited over the random things… and this week it’s LIGHTS! 😂

The light fixtures, switches and outlets are installed! 🙌🏻
And we even have COLD A/C blowing through the vents! 🥶
Every little thing that gets checked off the list gets us one step closer to opening our new dental home! 🤗

And after working in our current building… I don’t think any of us are going to complain about having a little extra room! 🙊

So just ignore me if you see me doing cartwheels with all this extra space!!! 😆

🦷 Dental assistant confession:

💡If I had to pick my favorite home care combo, it would be:

✨ Oral-B electric toothbrush
✨ Waterpik
✨ Regular checkups.. (with your favorite hygienist- 💞 Katrina 💞. 😉)

You don’t have to have a bathroom full of fancy gadgets!
But those two things 👆🏻 can make a huge difference in keeping your teeth and gums healthy! 🪥 👄

🦷 Let’s Talk About X-Rays! 🦷

“But she just took X-rays last time I was here?”

🙈 We hear this all the time!

💡 The X-rays from your cleaning appointment helped us check your overall dental health.

💡 The X-ray we’re taking today is focused on the tooth that’s bothering you.

Try looking at it like this-
If your check engine light came on, a mechanic wouldn’t just look at the outside of your car and say, “Looks fine to me!”

🔎 They’d take a closer look. 😉

Teeth are the same way!

But, the good news? 😊

The sooner we find the cause, the sooner we can recommend the right treatment and get you back to smiling comfortably! 🙌🏻

🚨 Alrighty folks! 🚨

🦷 It’s officially time to meet Dr. Mary! 🦷

We’ve talked about her, we’ve posted about her, and now it’s time for you to get to know her a little better! 🙌🏻

✨ Dr. Mary is originally from Idaho and the youngest of eight children! 😱

✨ She first began her career as a dental hygienist before returning to school during COVID to become a dentist! 👩🏼‍⚕️

✨ She’s been married to the love of her life for over 20 years! And is a proud mom of three! 🥰

✨ She loves spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, and making memories with her family! ⛷️

👉🏻When asked why she chose Texas, her answer was simple:
“I was charmed by the good people and honest dentistry and wanted to be part of a community where I could truly make a difference.”

….. and we are pretty glad she did! ☺️ We are SO excited to welcome her to the Hometown Dental family!

GUUYYSSS!!!!!! Mission accomplished! 🚨

After multiple attempts…
Several failed plans…
And one very suspicious dentist…
WE FINALLY GOT HIM! 🙌🏻

Today, we may have convinced Doc that OSHA had arrived for a surprise compliance review… 👀📄

For a few glorious moments, he believed every word! 🤭😂

Then he walked into a room full of cake, balloons, and the people who have loved working beside him all these years! ☺️❤️

Happy Retirement, Doc! You will be missed!…
and thanks for being such a good sport! 🎉 🥳

🚨 FRIENDS!!!!! 🚨

It really is the little things that make this remodel SO exciting!! 😱 👏🏻

And I’m probably WAY too excited that we’re actually going to have doors on all the rooms now!🙊🤣

No more hearing my loud mouth from the next room over! 😂🙌🏻

But seriously… all these little improvements are going to make SUCH a big difference for both our team and our patients, and that makes us even more excited for move-in day. 👏🏻✨

Most likely to keep the entire office functioning!
Loves building relationships with patients over the years. ❤️

🦷 DOC- Currently mentally halfway retired already. 😂
Most likely to disappear randomly for “just a second”. Has taken care of generations of families in this community. ❤️

🦷 ROZ- The voice behind the phone calls and schedules!
Most likely to ask “did anyone call that patient back yet?” 😂. One of the first smiles patients see when they walk in. ❤️

🦷 JACQ- Master of suction, instruments, and multitasking! Most likely to randomly start singing in the middle of the workday! 😂 Loves helping nervous patients feel comfortable. ❤️

We thought we were about to scare Doc today…
Turns out Doc has apparently developed the ability to detect a prank before it even happens. 😑🤣

Since his last days with us are getting closer, we decided to make things a little interesting around the office today and have a little fun. 😆

….. Too bad Dr. Eberhart caught on immediately and ruined our whole plan! 🙄🤣

Dental X-rays are one of the most important tools we have for finding problems before symptoms start! 🦷

Some of the biggest cavities we find are the ones patients never even knew were there!

💡That’s why routine X-rays every 2 years are so important — they help us see what the eye can’t! 👏✨

A tooth can appear completely healthy while decay quietly spreads between teeth.

These hidden cavities often develop in tight contact areas where brushing cannot clean effectively, allowing bacteria and plaque to slowly damage the tooth underneath the surface.

Common warning signs can include:
• Food getting stuck repeatedly
• Bad odor between teeth
• Sensitivity to sweets or cold
• A dark shadow between teeth or near the gumline

Many cavities between teeth are only discovered on dental X-rays after significant damage has already occurred.

Daily flossing helps remove plaque from surfaces brushing misses. Detecting cavities early can help prevent larger fillings, root canal treatment, fractures, and even tooth loss later on.

Not all cavities are visible until the damage becomes serious.
