💥 Braces ➕Jaw Surgery = Life-changing Smile! 💥
Bartosz started out with an anterior crossbite as well as severe maxillary and mandibular spacing. After careful discussion, we agreed to a combination approach of braces plus orthognathic surgery to allow his teeth to fully occlude.
In this case, after Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP), we determined with the oral surgeon (Dr. Steve Yusupov) that the least invasive approach was to proceed with a one jaw surgery to preserve his airway and breathing as well as correct his occlusion. We would perform a Maxillary Advancement only and leave the Mandible alone 🤓
Fast forward to now and Bartosz has an esthetic and functional bite, chews his food more effectively and has a broad and symmetric smile! We are so happy for him. Truly love my job!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Patient started out with:
❌ Anterior Crossbite
❌ Severe Maxillary Spacing
❌ Severe Mandibular Spacing
❌ Class III dental and skeletal malocclusion
❌ Concave Profile

And now we have:
✅ Broad Upper And Lower Arches
✅ Healthy Bite (with upper teeth over the lower teeth)
✅ Skeletal symmetry
✅ No Spacing
✅ No crossbites
✅ Midlines are coincident

👀 Take a close look at this patient’s teeth. Can you guess what Jayden is missing? 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ You guessed it…his maxillary lateral incisors! 🦷
This lovely teenage patient was born with 2️⃣missing upper incisors!!!
Originally, there was no space for Jayden’s lateral incisors because his canines moved into their position. After undergoing orthodontic treatment, we distalized (moved back) his canines and had enough space for future lateral incisor implant crowns.
The problem is that Jayden is too young for implants because he is not done growing. We clearly could not let him finish treatment with spaces in his teeth. So what did we do? 🤔🤔🤔
⚡️We fabricated and bonded a custom made Maryland Bridge Fixed Retainer to close the spaces. ⚡️
Now he can walk around proudly with his beautiful smile. When he is old enough, our patient will be ready for his implants. For now, Jayden is enjoying his fixed Maryland Bridge 😎

Happy Monday everyone! 🎉 Meet Michelle 🙋🏻‍♀️

🦷 In a total of 22 months, we achieved this gorgeous result using Invisalign + Elastics + Interproximal Reduction. This was a difficult case to fully close all of her upper spacing but so worth it! It was especially beautiful to watch Michelle’s confidence improve with her smile progression. Love my job! 🥰

A customized treatment plan and an extremely compliant patient was truly a recipe for success 🫶🏻
