With age, the gum ridges in our mouths can shrink, causing dentures to become loose. Bone can also shrink, causing jaws not to line up properly. Loose dentures can cause sore spots in your mouth as well as stomach problems from not being able to chew food properly. A loose denture could also cause changes in your facial features.

About our Office Manager Diana: I am the first person you talk to on the phone and the first person to greet you when you come into our office. I am here to help you feel as comfortable and welcoming as possible. The majority of my time is in the front office.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry, especially being able to help our patients feel good about their smiles and seeing how happy they are each time they visit our practice. I also enjoy being part of the office of Dr. Choy. Everybody at this practice is warm and welcoming, and here because we enjoy helping others. When you visit our practice, as a patient, you instantly become part of our family

About our assistant Shawndell: I am Dr. Choy’s dental assistant, and I am passionate about making our patients smile, and feel better about themselves and their health. I love working with Dr. Choy and his associate Dr. Huang. When I come to work in the morning, it’s like going to visit all of my friends. Everybody at this practice has a very close relationship with each other and our patients; you can fell it when you come through the door, it feels like family!

I am a people person, and I was first inspired to become a dental assistant because of the joy I get from helping those around me feel better. I love to see my patients smile, and it is because of their happy smiles that I am driven to the best I can each day.

Dr. Choy earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from Northwestern University and Master of Science in Dentistry with a certificate in the Specialty in Prosthodontic’s at the University of Washington’s Graduate Program in Prosthodontics. Also, he completed a General Practice Internship Program at Chicago VA Research Hospital and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Residency Program at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.

Dr. Choy is married to his devoted wife, Young, for 44 years and has two adult children and two grandsons and one granddaughter. One of Dr. Choy’s favorite pastimes is reading and gardening. His hobbies included photography, glass blowing, traveling and cheering for his favorite sport team, “The Washington Huskies”.

Dr. Choy appreciates the esthetic beauty of the scenic nature outdoor through his traveling to different part of the world. He sees the creativity of glass blowing artist in shaping molten glass into an art masterpiece. Dr. Choy likes to apply this concept with the creation of a new smile for his patient since his entire denture services are done with his in-house laboratory. Dr. Choy is approaching the fifth decades in his experience with dentistry

What is Prosthodontics?
