Welcome Dr. Misa Yoshioka. She grew up in the greater Seattle area and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington (Go Huskies!). She headed down to sunny southern California to finish dental school at Western University of Health Sciences, where she graduated at the top of her class. She then completed a master's degree and two years of additional pediatric specialty training at Nationwide Children's Hospital and the Ohio State University. She mostly loves helping anxious or apprehensive kids feel more at ease and comfortable in the dental chair. Celebrating with them their accomplishments. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Yoshioka loves running, traveling, and eating great food. In her free time, you can find her hiking around the PNW or doing crafts with family and friends.

Dear Just for kids dentistry families:

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our office continues to follows recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

What to expect at your next appointment: We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office as well as your temperatures will be taken. For your safety and ours, we are doing prescreening and temperatures on all staff as well.
• We ask that all family members 2 and older to wear their masks to your appointment. We have hand sanitizer and masks that we will ask you to use when you enter the office.
• You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. We ask that patient(s) and 1 parent/guardian is present for appointments. If you have more people with you, we may ask you to stay in your vehicle.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 253-200-2500.

Just for kids dentistry families,

As of today, we plan on continuing to provide dental care for emergency patients only. All non-emergency/essential appointments will need to be rescheduled until April 1st or beyond. Emergency appointments would involve extensive decay that can lead to infections or pain if left untreated.
If you feel like your child needs to be seen. Please give us a call and we can accommodate as needed.
We are continuing to take extra precautions for the safety of our patients and team. We ask that the patient and one parent/guardian only attend the appointment.
If you come in early and we are not able to get your child seen early we will ask that you wait in the car and we will call you to come in.
All communal materials have been removed from the office: magazine, switch remotes, toys, etc. We are trying to keep our waiting area as clear as possible. We’re asking If anyone at home is sick, please call us to reschedule. We will keep you informed of any changes as more information becomes available.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time, as we work together to safe guard our families.
