Recently, a mom brought in her 12 year old child because his baby tooth wasn't falling out. Dr. J examined the patient, and determined that the adult tooth was being blocked by something- possibly a dermoid cyst.

A dermoid cyst is a non-cancerous, slow growing sac that contains tissues like hair, nails, skin, and glands. It presents when skin cells get trapped during fetal development. It is often removed if it is growing too large or causing issues.
